Meili, Peter Architects
Apart from the involvement of the two founders Marcel Meili and Markus Peter, the Munich office has been under the constant management of Florian Hartmann, Andreas Müsseler and Oliver Noak, the managing partners for the Munich office since the beginning of 2013. The management has been reinforced since the beginning of 2014 by Lisa Yamaguchi. In addition to the Hofstatt project, orders are received as the result of competition successes at various levels and direct commissioning.
Like the head office founded in Zurich by Marcel Meili and Markus Peter in 1987, the Munich office is not specialised but examines and implements projects of all scales with different programmes. It has focused on urban development with particular reference to the Hofstatt project (the reutilisation of the former site of the Süddeutsche Zeitung), as well as historical, listed buildings and urban densification.
The culture of open discussion with all participants in the constantly new negotiations of a complex task, plus the resulting creative spatial interpretation of the programme, is an essential component of our working culture beyond the call of duty, especially in our exchanges with our colleagues in Switzerland. Not restricted to initial ideas, we are always concerned to accompany our concepts through the development and design process right up to the finished building, and to give detailed assistance to the implementation of the developed characteristic spatial relations.
The Munich office has a team of 15-20 employees; the two offices together employee about 40 staff in Zurich and Munich.
